The Liebster Award is an award where bloggers nominate other bloggers. The purpose is to acknowledge and promote new bloggers. It’s a good opportunity for new bloggers to be discovered and to network with other bloggers.
I am honored that Molly’s Pitcher was nominated for the Liebster Award by Karla of Sweets by Karla. Sweets by Karla is a blog that contains recipes, cake topper ideas, parenting advice, reviews, and travel. It has been very enjoyable to read her posts to date and I look forward to reading many more of hers. Check out her blog at www.sweetsbykarla.com. Thank you, Karla, for the nomination!
For the official rules for the Liebster Award see The Global Aussie’s rules. https://theglobalaussie.com/blog/liebster-award-2017/
One of the rules for the nominee is to write a post about a blog that I read. I read articles from blogs here and there, but do follow a couple of blogs more closely than others. I was introduced to Real Foodie Family earlier this year when Sophie was looking for guest posts. As a new blogger, I was looking for opportunities to write for other blogs and to gain exposure to new readers.
Real Foodie Family has been a blog that I’ve followed ever since I found it. While I do not blog about food often, I love to read about food and am always trying to find ways to help my family eat healthier. I believe in meal planning and preparation and how a little time spent preparing food for a week can reduce stress and prevent excuses to eat out later that week. Real Foodie Family has information about both of these. When I decided I would go mostly gluten free, I found recipes I liked on Sophie’s website. This blog is real and it’s a lot of fun to read. She writes about things that she tries, even when they don’t work out for one reason or another. Check out Sophie’s blog at www.realfoodiefamily.com.
As a part of the nomination from Sweets by Karla (www.sweetsbykarla.com) I get the opportunity to share more about myself by answering some questions of hers:
What is your motivation for blogging?
My motivation for blogging was to find a creative outlet for myself. I have a dream of writing a book but I didn’t feel like I had a story to tell, or at least not one long enough to write a full-length book. I love to write and think I have things that might be interesting to others.
What is your main goal with your blog?
The goal of my blog is to share ideas with other working moms on how to find balance in life.
What has been your biggest accomplishment with your blog?
I’m not artistic or visually creative so the aesthetics of the blog has been a problem for me. Through hard work and partnering with some great people, I have a blog that I am happy with how it looks.
Do you blog as a hobby or for income?
Hobby for now.
What advice can you give other bloggers that are just starting?
Find a network of people that will answer questions for you on blogging. You will need them. Join all of the Blogging Facebook groups that you can find so you can ask for help and have access to resources when they are needed.
What is your favorite plugin?
I don’t have a favorite plugin at this time.
Is there anything that you don’t like about blogging?
The only thing I don’t like about blogging right now is my inability to put more time into it.
Do you do anything else besides blogging, like a 9 to 5 job?
I have a daytime job and spend a couple of hours each day commuting.
Who is your biggest supporter?
My husband is my biggest supporter.
Who is your mentor?
I take advice and ask questions of a lot of different people. I haven’t made personal connections with many bloggers to have a mentor.
Who is your favorite blogger?
I read a lot of blogs and what I read is always changing based on what is happening in my life or what my latest interests are. I’ve been following some Dad blogs lately because they are hilarious and a very different perspective on families than I normally get from the Mommy Blogs. Check out – No Idea What I’m Doing: A Daddy Blog.
Also, check our Real Foodie Family and Sweets by Karla as mentioned above.
